The Coatings Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation of manholes, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Overall Position Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate manhole rehabilitation projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure all rehabilitation work meets project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor progress and performance against project schedules and budgets.
  • Supervise and manage the rehabilitation team, including foremen, technicians, and other crew members.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions, terminations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of rehabilitation work.
  • Identify and address any issues or defects in a timely manner.
  • Maintain documentation of quality control processes and outcomes.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the rehabilitation team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to relevant parties.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage the allocation and use of equipment, materials, and personnel to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure the proper maintenance of rehabilitation equipment.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project progress, resource utilization, and budget status.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in construction or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manhole rehabilitation or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of manhole rehabilitation techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., NASSCO PACP, MACP, LACP) are preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: The role involves working in various environments, including outdoor and confined spaces, with exposure to varying weather conditions and hazardous materials.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to different project sites may be required.

  • Corporate Systems Manager will be notified of any issues that cannot be resolved, or deadlines that cannot be met within a reasonable time frame, and before the deadline has arrived
  • All proprietary company information will be held as strictly confidential outside the company.
  • Perform all administrative requirements per process
  • General maintenance of company owned assigned tools or equipment
  • Comply with all processes and procedures outlined in the company Handbook and/or Safety Manual

Compensation Outline for Full-Time Employees:

  • After 60 days of consecutive employment, you will be eligible for company subsidized health insurance at the current plan year applicable rates.
  • Additional benefits paid-in-full by employees include vision, dental, life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
  • After six months of employment, you will be eligible to participate in the Company sponsored 401K plan with currently applicable matching schedule.
  • 3 days PTO, available at 90 days and 4 additional days after 6 months of employment.
  • All paid holidays included. 8 major holidays as specified in APS Company Handbook.
